This luxurious black walnut comes from locally felled trees.  I wanted to use this attractive wood in a way that respected its origin as a living plant.  The interior cutaway is actually the trees’ live edges, their irregular shape mirrored by the stainless steel center support.  It’s a subtle detail with huge impact—a piece of the outdoors honored as the focus of an indoor space.
