This piece is a loving shout out to my hometown of Lake Elmo. See, what looks like a bold faux bois pattern—uncannily similar to walnut grain, in fact—is actually the lake bed’s topographical map. I used a CNC router to cut this pattern into walnut veneer. A lot of light passes through the top of this table due to the acrylic tabletop beneath the cut veneer.
